You will visit Edinburgh Gin or Pickering’s Gin, the choice is yours. Edinburgh Gin provides you with a choice of tours the discovery or connoisseur either way you will get to sample three of Scotland’s finest gins. If your choice is Pickering’s then you will visit the handcrafted gin at Summerhall the old home of the Royal (Dick) Vet School, they even have gin on tap! It’s now time to travel down Scotland’s stunning “golf coast” to NB Gin located in the seaside town of North Berwick. The 2 hour tour experience will consist of learning and sampling a gin that was voted the “Best London Dry Gin” in the world 2015.

From Edinburgh you head South to the picturesque Scottish Borders to the ancient town of Jedburgh, famous for its 12th Century Augustine Abbey and Castle, and then view Abbotsford House in Melrose, home of Sir Walter Scott. Your gin tour will start at Lilliards distillery where you will sample their floral gin along with the opportunity to take a distilling class where you will create your own unique gin. The distillery sits next to the borders micro-brewery so if it takes your fancy you can try some unique local beers.
Next you move onto Floors Castle, location of the tarzan movie Greystoke before visiting the Rutherford micro-brewery to sample the Crow Man’s Gin. Legend says that the Crow Man was a travelling medicine man who toured the Borders offering the ailing, the weary and the lovelorn ‘little brighteners’ from his leather gladstone bag. Tales were told of men who were restored and women who were soothed by his special mixes of herbs, spices and secret ingredients. Head off from Edinburgh and drive through some of Scotland’s most spectacular and panoramic scenery via the Cairngorm National Park and on to Aviemore, Scotland’s premier ski resort. We will take in the Crossbill gin distillery. Crossbill is handcrafted with 100% juniper and rosehip and named after the crossbill bird; you can create your own gin on this tour or just take some time learning about how they make the gin while tasting some samples.
It’s time for an overnight stay at the MacDonald Hotel in Aviemore where you can rest up have a nice meal and maybe a few more gins before getting ready for tomorrow’s visit to Caorunn Gin!
After breakfast we will head off and drive through the beautiful Spey Valley home to many of Scotland’s whisky distilleries. We will stop off at Cromdale where we will take in a private tour of Caorunn gin. Get to see how Caorunn is made and sample the taste of wild sophistication, made from five locally foraged botanicals and six traditional botanicals, you will also meet Simon Buley who handcrafts every bottle personally

We depart from Edinburgh and drive through the historic Queensferry where you can view our magnificent 3 bridges over the River Forth. We then continue north to Guardbridge through rural Scotland taking in Auchtermuchty (birthplace of the Proclaimers and Jimmy Shand) and on to the Eden Estuary, home of Eden Mill Gins. This distillery is Scotland’s first single-site distillery and brewery, making gin, whisky and beer, Eden Mill spirit is created by distillers in copper pot-stills and exhibits a wide range of flavours from botanicals sourced from the local area, as well as from around the world. Your Gin Tour starts off with a refreshing Gin & Tonic along with a detailed history of the site. You will be guided through the distillery, bonded cask warehouse and product finishing areas then finishes off with a gin tasting session from the range.
From Eden Mill we continue onto St Andrews, Scotland’s home of golf with photo opportunities on the famous Swilken Bridge on the Old Course. Next stop is Darnley’s Distillery next to Kingsbarns Whisky Distillery, your guide will explain the story of Darnley’s Gin, and how they distill their spirit and of course, lead you in a tasting of their three gins.
